What are the differences between Dissociative Amnesia and Dissociative Fugue? What are the differences between Dissociative Amnesia and Dissociative Fugue?
Both are types of dissociative disorders.
In both instances patient has a severe loss of personal memory. Fugue is characterised by the individuals search for a new identity. They tend to leave their home and become somebody else.
In Dissociative Amnesia individuals are not driven to seek a new identity away from home and generally stay put.
They're the main differences as far as I'm aware :)What are the differences between Dissociative Amnesia and Dissociative Fugue?
my textbook says that Dissociative amnesia is when there is loss of memory of one's identity or periods of time in one's life. a Dissociative fugue is when someone loses their memory completely, travels away from home, and assumes a new identity.
