This is called retrograde amnesia. With this type of amnesia you have the capacity for procedural memory (i.e. how to read, how to ride a bike) but you lack episodic/declarative memory (events from the past). The opposite type of amnesia is called anterograde amnesia. Anterograde amnesia is characterized by inability to form new memories.

What would this type of amnesia be called?
Amnesia when you remember literally none of your past, but are the same person and still remember how to speak, move, etc. If there is a name for this type? Thanks. :)What would this type of amnesia be called?
