What is the exact difference between anterograde and retrograde amnesia?

What, in specific, is the difference at the point or incidence of amnesia and furthermore the difference between the time BEFORE the incidence and AFTER the incidence? What is the exact difference between anterograde and retrograde amnesia?
Anterograde amnesia is a loss of memory of what happens after the injury that caused the amnesia; it is different than retrograde amnesia, where events prior to the injury-causing one are forgotten.
